In a few years time, there will be a shortage of qualified nurses in the USA in the health profession. This is a big challenge in providing medical care to patients. The peak of nursing shortage is expected in the year 2020. This is the period when the Baby Boomers will need quality healthcare the most. This is a healthcare crisis.


Knowing this ahead of time, the Nursing Institutions across the country are trying their best to expand enrollment levels to meet the demands of nursing care that is increasing. The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is aware of this that’s why they are making some actions. They are appealing to the schools, media, policy makers, kindred organizations to solve this issue.

The number one problem of Nursing Schools is the lack of Nursing Instructors that are available to educate the nursing students. While United States is dealing with this problem, Asians opportunities are opened. Most specifically Filipinos, they learn how to be a Nursing Practitioner in their country then take the board examination to be a Registered Nurse. Once they passed, they do a little volunteer work in local hospitals while applying for a Nursing job in the USA. They love it because they can bring their families too with them if they’re lucky to get a family sponsorship. Nurses from the Philippines earn a lot in the USA because when the dollar is converted to peso, it multiplies a lot. Even Doctors in the Philippines, wants to be a Registered Nurse just to go to the US. That’s how in demand Nurses are. They are preferred a lot because they speak good English aside from being good in their profession.


If you are in the US, you should know that a Nursing Degree will make good money. Contribute to the society. Get a Nursing Degree. Most institutions nowadays have embraced the innovative technology to provide Nursing education to those who are willing to learn. It’s not impossible now, there are bunch of Online Nursing Programs to choose from. It is open to all who wants to study and especially to those who are presently employed in a medical field to pursue a higher education or those who want to have a career change.

More people are getting older and getting sick, the US needs more Nurses to provide medical care to patients. By choosing a Nursing program, you are opening your door to possible opportunities that are rewarding while being of service to others.
